When your family puts in a claim on your policy, all your premiums will be paid back to them. For example, if you paid R80 a month for 3 years, R2880 will get paid to your family (that is R80 x 12 x 3), PLUS the pay-out from the policy.
Anything that is not stated as "covered" in the policy document will therefore not be covered. For example, if the policy does not say that a person is covered for retrenchment, then they will not be able to claim against the policy if they are retrenched. That means that retrenchment is “not covered” under that policy.
The waiting period is the 6-month period after the Funeral Cover first begins where no claims are able to be made on the policy. Accidental death has no waiting period applicable.
Exclusions are events that are not covered by this policy, such as death by suicide or a death by natural causes that takes place within the waiting period (first 6 months)
